Why didn't he bother?
I do not understand...
That year I referred to in my previous post was also filled with going out and having fun.
He would later state that we went for meals to not fight at home.
He was running, all that time and I did not know.
His late hours at work, his late walks, his falling asleep...
He was running from conflict and from having to make changes.
So often he tells me now he was trying.
He waited for me or for things to change.
That is not how change happens. Yes, seasons change through time, relationships don't change the way you want just by waiting.
Why did he try? Why didn't he talk more about what he wanted?
Why did he hide?
How could a relationship not be worth of the effort required at that time?
Why was 24 years or so not a good reason to fight for a better us?
He may tell me he tried, he didn't.
"When you have to start working at a relationship it isn't working anymore"
Such retarded lines to whip out when you are just no longer in love.
That's is the point, he no longer loved me.
You do not turn your back on a relationship when you love the person. However annoying they may be. However much you have to talk and work at things. Love makes you fight for someone.
Like I have told him, I would go through fire for him.
But he didn't even want to light a match...
