Who is the most scared?

Now he says he has been too scared to leave me all these years.
That fear got him to stay.
So I ask if love was also a reason or not.
Yes, it was but fear also.

I feel horrible to know he stayed out of fear.
He says he was afraid to go for his desires.
There are many theories that would work.

Ironic, the idea that most people would have guessed I stayed out of comfort, and so in a way fear and now have come to realize it was love all along.
While he, who stayed out of love, has been staying out of fear for years.
Ironic, though not very funny.
